“SME digital”: etventure at the Bits&Pretzels conference in Munich
09. September 2015
This years Bits&Pretzels, from the 27. -29. September at Munich’s ICM promises interesting insights into the digital world. For the first time the ever, the “founder-festival” does not only welcome founders of young and rising companies but also established firms who work with digitalization strategies and want to get in contact with startups.
Along with Bavaria’s minister of economic affairs Ilse Aigner, Adidas-CEO Herbert Hainer and Runtastic-founder Florian Gschwandtner, Philipp Depiereux, founder and CEO of etventure is also conducting a speech at the conference. His contribution: “Whoever does not digitalize now, leaves the value creation to others”.
Numerous lectures and panels are planned for the 28th of September, which give the small and medium sized companies interesting insights in digital business modelling. For the purpose of digitalization, the cooperation between startups and established firms is more important than ever. Both parties benefit because startups bring fresh and innovative approaches, energy and new methods that help to implement ideas like the fast pace online world demands it. Established firms, on the other hand, bring not only financial assets and expertise but also connections to customers and suppliers.
Philipp Depiereux, former managing director of a medium-sized company himself: “in many firms there is a “preserve-ship”, as many employees have difficulties with change. However, SMEs and companies must carry out a change of internal culture and mindset, in order to keep up with the digitalizing world around them. There simply is no time for long development cycles and hypothetical approaches today. Speed and radical focus on the consumers needs are at the essence of digitalization. Firms need to open up to this because whoever does not digitalize now, leaves value creation to others – digital players such as Google, Amazon, Apple or even Startups ”
His presentation “Whoever does not digitalize now, leaves the value creation to others” is scheduled for the 28th September at the IHK Panel “SME digital” at the Bits&Pretzels conference.
