A center for digitization – etventure and Friendsfactory office opening party
27. July 2016
Yesterday, together with Friendsfactory, we officially opened our new innovative location in the heart of the historical center of Munich, using the event tagline “Innovation@MUC.” Alongside Philipp Depiereux, Founder and Managing Director of etventure, and Gregor Gebhardt, CEO of Friendsfactory AG, the guests included numerous business partners, friends and acquaintances – as well as members of staff, of course. The evening was inaugurated by Hans-Jürgen Jakobs, former Chief Editor of the business newspaper Handelsblatt and Senior Editor of Munich’s Wirtschaftszeitung newspaper. Together with the managers of the two businesses, he discussed the importance of digitization and the “Friendsfactory by etventure” joint venture.
It was back in the spring that the Munich-based etventure team found its new home in the building on Prannerstrasse. Now, after extensive renovation work and the implementation of an interior design concept by Constanze Hartmann, the new location has been officially opened. The joint venture “Friendsfactory by etventure” was launched at the same time. After all, the new innovation location on Prannerstrasse is more than just a collaboration between two partners who share a building. By launching this innovation hub, etventure and Friendsfactory are creating a nerve center for digitization, both for companies and for startups. The goal is to promote networking between the “old economy” and young founders, and to use etventure’s innovation methodology to press ahead with digital transformation. There is a long-standing friendship between the two companies. Six years ago, back when etventure was still in its founding phase, it was one of Friendsfactory’s subtenants. The shared office location and the joint venture has created an opportunity for two old acquaintances to get together again.
During the discussion with Hans-Jürgen Jakobs, Philipp Depiereux made it clear that there is great demand for new digital solutions. “What we are talking about is the fourth industrial revolution,” said the founder and managing director of etventure. “Companies need to act now so that their business models remain futureproof.” Through gaining experience with the digital transformation of companies and with startup building, etventure has also learned that innovative work requires a certain kind of space. Standing at etventure’s side is Friendsfactory – a partner with more than twelve years of market experience in the office leasing business. It has eight locations in Germany and a community of 1,600 startups.
The guests at the office opening event had the opportunity to see what innovation spaces can look like. The two managers took visitors on guided tours through the new spaces. Among the impressed visitors was Hans-Jürgen Jakobs, who said: “It has been transformed into a fantastic space! The facilities are modern and inviting – they really do provide an excellent working environment.”
Lastly, above all else, our office opening was a great party! The celebrations continued well into the night, with staff, friends, acquaintances and business partners dancing to live music provided by the band De La Cream.
We would like to thank all of the guests who celebrated with us yesterday at the opening of the new location. It was a great evening!
